Though Brother printers are heavily used for printouts, they are also meant to scan. However, your
brother printer won't scan due to several reasons like bad network connection, outdated scanner driver, Brother machine is not available to print, or due to misconfigured IP address on the scanner driver. You can fix the problem by verifying that the network connection is fine and it’s not slow. The next fix could be setting the IP address on the scanner driver. For that, you should open the Scanner properties, click the Network setting and select Specify your machine by address. Now you can enter the IP address and hit Ok. Another solution is reconfiguring the Windows firewall and turn it off temporarily. These steps should resolve the scanner error.
